Wellbeing Champions
Football clubs have long been the centre of communities, with generations of families being associated with clubs through playing, coaching, volunteering or supporting.
With football clubs having so many individuals associated with them and the ever growing need for mental health support, it's important for grassroots football clubs and their communities to be supported as best they can and to be given the tools and structure to create a culture of support, understanding and awareness.
Through funding from The Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust, we are providing a structure and support to develop mental health/wellbeing champions within grassroots football clubs across Caerphilly.
Mental Health Champions will play a vital role in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing within the football club community and beyond. Acting as a point of contact and source of support, the Champions will help to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and ensure players, staff, and volunteers feel supported both on and off the pitch.

We will work with the club to fully develop the roles of the champions, providing support, training and an ongoing point of contact to ensure this isn't just a tick box exercise but something that has a lasting and meaningful impact at your club.
